Customer Spotlight: Yost & Campbell

Yost & Campbell has been serving the Westchester County area of New York for over 75 years. In 1939, they began as a refrigerator repair business out of a garage. The business grew from there and now covers all aspects of heating, cooling, plumbing, and indoor air quality for homes and businesses throughout Westchester County, The Bronx, Queens, and Rockland.

Yost & Campbell has been a CE customer since 1972 (back then, CE was Carlton-Stuart), purchasing boilers. They then started purchasing cooling equipment from us and have been a Bryant dealer for almost 27 years, working with Territory Manager, Don Miller.

In 2017, Yost & Campbell placed 98% of their orders online through CE’s website, making them one of our top users. We asked Tom Monahan, President of Yost & Campbell, to tell us about his experience with CE’s technologies and to describe the impact that CE’s technology has had on the business.

“Part Search, Order History, and Online Warranty have been wonderful time-saving tools for our company,” noted Monahan. “With CE’s site giving us the ability to check inventory to see if the part is in stock, and with the Pickup Express function, we can serve our customers better and faster.”

Additionally, Tom Monahan uses the CE HVAC Assist mobile app, saying “The mobile app is very helpful for our sales staff. They are able to check product specifications, as well as inventory, before quoting. This allows us to make certain that the correct equipment is available and installed when the customer wants it, which is usually ‘now.’”

When asked how our technologies improve his business with CE, Tom tells us, “The digital tools provided by CE allows Don Miller to concentrate more on helping us work on our business, as opposed to working in our business.” Monahan goes on to say, “When Don calls on us, it is more of an educational meeting, as opposed to helping us with orders or warranty issues. Most recently, Don sat down with us and went over our product mix and helped us realize that we should gear our proposals and sales tools toward higher margin, high efficiency equipment.”

Yost & Campbell embraces technology as a whole. All of their technicians, installers, and salespeople have company-issued iPads that allow them to communicate with the office, effectively saving time and money while improving customer service.
